Leonardo Marseglia joined the Chiesa Corse team, to race in the International karting events of the 2017 season. The team manager Dino Chiesa is known for his past as a talent scout with great knack and it was he to want the 14 y.o. driver from Ostuni (Italy) in his team.
Chiesa: ”I have been watching Leonardo for a long time. I think he is a very interesting and talented driver and this is why I thought about him to make up the new line-up of my team for 2017.”
The usual Zanardi chassis, together with the Parilla engines, are once again the technical base of Chiesa Corse team to enter its drivers to the races of current season. Leonardo Marseglia will race in OK Junior category in a very demanding calendar: all the WSK Promotion’s event and the Winter Cup in Lonato (I), then the Deutschland Karting Meisterschaft, the CIK-FIA European Championship and finally the World Championship for OKJ in Brandon (UK).
Marseglia: “This is my 2nd season in OKJ and I count very much on it. I’m sure I will grow up more, working side by side with Dino Chiesa. I think about the drivers who raced for this team in the past, as Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton. This is for me a great encouragement in learning more technical and driving skills. Not to mention Alex Zanardi, a driver I always admired: I’m proud that his name is now on the body of my kart.”
